Tom Newsom

Santa Claus is a big part of Tom's career but there is a lot more! He graduated from Art Center College of Design in 1971 with a BFA in Illustration and has been a free lance illustrator ever since. Born and raised in Texas, Tom has lived in Colorado since 1981. He has done work for most of the Children's Book Publishing Houses in New York City, as well as for numerous Greeting Card Companies, and for national companies such as Celestial Seasonings, Hamilton Collections and Fisher Price. In recent years, Christmas themes have become a large portion of his commissions, often featuring Santa Claus. His images of St. Nick can be seen on puzzles, gift bags, textiles, food packaging, and Holiday Tins. In addition, Tom was commissioned to witness a Space Shuttle Launch at Cape Kennedy and produce several pieces of art for the their Manned Space Flight Art Collection.

Tom now lives in Evergreen, Colorado with his wife, Carol, also an illustrator. They have been residents of Evergreen for more than 8 years and love the mountain life there. Tom has had his work in various galleries around Colorado, generally featuring his landscapes or original illustrations. Most recently his artwork can be seen in the Main Street Fine Art gallery in downtown Evergreen, Colorado.
